Kitchens built around real routines

Kitchen Renovation in Brisbane, scoped properly

Typical on-site time3–5 weeks
Planning range$22,000 – $65,000
Licence scopeKitchen, bathroom and laundry
Best forFull rebuilds and layout changes

Our QBCC licence covers kitchen, bathroom and laundry work, and we treat kitchens with the same detail we bring to wet areas. A kitchen renovation is a coordination problem: cabinetry, stone, plumbing, electrical, tiling, range hood ducting and appliance installation all have to meet in the same room without clashes. We plan the sequence before demolition and keep one project lead accountable from first measure to handover.

Brisbane kitchens vary enormously. A Queenslander may need the kitchen reworked around a central hallway and a character ceiling; a 1990s project home may have a closed-in layout that blocks the backyard; an apartment kitchen may be constrained by services and body corporate rules. We design within those limits rather than pretending they do not exist.

Our scope covers full strip-out, structural openings where required, new cabinetry, benchtops, splashbacks, sink and tapware, lighting, power, range hood ducting, flooring and painting. If you are renovating a kitchen and bathroom together, we can sequence both to reduce disruption and share site costs.

Every project is different, but the following scope is the foundation we price and manage. Your written quote confirms exactly what applies to your room, including any exclusions and provisional allowances.

How we approach kitchen renovation

Work the triangle, then the storage

Sink, cooktop and fridge form the working triangle. We check the distances and clearances before deciding where the island or pantry goes. Storage is planned around what you actually own: tall items, heavy items, everyday dishes and the appliances that rarely leave the bench.

Decide the benchtop early

Benchtop material affects cabinet dimensions, support, sink mounting and lead time. Stone needs templating after cabinetry is installed; laminate can be ordered earlier. We lock in the material before the cabinet order so the programme does not stall.

Plan services before walls close

Power points, lighting circuits, range hood ducting, dishwasher and fridge water lines all need to be in the right place before sheeting and tiling. We mark them on site with you so there are no surprises at fit-off.

Keep the room usable where possible

If you are living in the home during the renovation, we set up a temporary kitchen zone, protect floors and sequence noisy work to agreed hours. We also confirm access for stone and cabinetry deliveries before the day.

Kitchen Renovation cost guide

Kitchen costs vary with size, cabinetry specification, benchtop material and whether walls or services move. These bands are a planning guide for Brisbane homes.

Why homeowners choose our team

We are the builder. The team who quotes your project is accountable for the waterproofing, tiling, trade coordination and handover. That direct responsibility is why our scope can be specific and our programme realistic.

  • QBCC licensed for kitchen, bathroom and laundry work, with Certificate III qualifications in tiling and waterproofing.
  • AS 3740 waterproofing with flood testing and a compliance certificate.
  • Externally ducted ventilation and moisture-aware detailing for Brisbane's climate.
  • Written variations, agreed before the work proceeds.
  • A formal handover with testing, care instructions and documentation.

If you are comparing quotes, read our guide to choosing a bathroom contractor and our contractor standards so you know what to ask.

Kitchen Renovation across Brisbane

We work across Greater Brisbane, including the northside, southside, eastside, westside and inner city. Local housing conditions affect the scope: older Queenslanders may need floor levelling and substrate repair, while apartments need body corporate approval and careful access planning.

Practical answers

Kitchen Renovation questions

The questions Brisbane homeowners ask most often about kitchen renovation, costs and timing.

Can you remove a wall between the kitchen and living room?

Often yes, but it depends on whether the wall is load-bearing. We arrange structural assessment and engineering where required, obtain the necessary approvals and install a beam or support before the opening is finished.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

Most kitchens take 3–5 weeks on site, plus lead time for cabinetry and stone. A refresh with existing services can be faster; a layout change with structural work takes longer. We provide a milestone schedule.

Do you supply appliances?

We can supply appliances through our suppliers or install yours. We confirm dimensions, clearances and service requirements before ordering cabinetry so everything fits.

Can I renovate the kitchen and bathroom at the same time?

Yes, and it can reduce overall disruption and site costs. We sequence the trades so both rooms progress without blocking each other, and confirm whether you will have a usable bathroom or kitchen during the work.

What is included in your kitchen quote?

Your quote lists demolition, cabinetry, benchtop, splashback, sink, tapware, plumbing, electrical, tiling, painting and appliance installation as applicable. Exclusions and provisional allowances are shown clearly.

Do I need council approval for a kitchen renovation?

Cosmetic work generally does not require approval. Structural changes, new window or door openings, and some plumbing or electrical work may require certification or approval. We identify these requirements during the planning stage.
